Working with space to create connection through an Airbnb shipping container experience.
CREATIVE PROCESS EXPLAINED
SPACE
SPACE reflects the construction method ethos and interior design approach. Considerations from Germany’s Passive House and Solar Passive House building methodologies are used to construct intelligent, high performing, hygienic housing envelopes. Interior design is inspired by qualities from feng shui, ying/yang & masculine/feminine energies, shapes, size and colours.
CONSCIOUS
CONSCIOUS speaks to honouring Mother Earth. Being sensitive to the effects of the build, functioning as off grid and minimising ground and foliage disturbance. Conscious asks the question how can we honour the traditional owners of the land the container is placed on. How can we practice being anti-landfill / anti-consumerism. This is done by utilising materials which are recycled or up-cycled during the build and also the goods inside the Airbnb guests are using.
LIVING
LIVING is the most exciting pillar to HUASCA’s core ethos. Creating CONNECTION. Connecting to Self, connecting to Nature and connecting to Community. HUASCA connects to its community by showcasing local talents. This is achieved by connecting Airbnb guests to the work of local, small businesses. Additionally, one Non Profit organisation is chosen to receive a percentage of the profits from each Airbnb booking. These small businesses and the non profit have been divinely led to HUASCA, creating our own connection to uplift these amazing humans. Also, HUASCA aligns and partners with environmental goals of the nearest town. A HUASCA Airbnb experience looks to provide space for self connection and deep connection with nature based on its location among the trees, unplugged from the hustle of life.
